A few random polishes from SpaRitual

Hey Guys!  SpaRitual has been releasing some intriguing collections lately and I was able to purchase these polishes at cost, so I chose a handful that really caught my eye..

Comfort:

Comfort is from the new Share Collection for Fall 2013.  Comfort is a really beautiful polish that's perfect for autumn.  It has a sheer olive base with pretty gold shimmer.  I used three coats of Comfort in the above pics.

Kindness:

Kindness is from the Reflect Collection for Summer 2013.  I'm in love with this polish!!  It has a pumpkin-orange base packed full of golden yellow flecks!  This color is more suitable for Fall, but it's gorgeous regardless of the season.  I used two coats of Kindness, but I really could have gotten away with just one.  It kinda dries matte, too. Yay for another stunning orange!!

Burst:

Burst is from the special edition Laugh Collection.  Burst contains raspberry pink glitters and micro silver glitters all in a subtle pink jelly base.  Burst has a great formula that's totally buildable!  Pictured above is three generous coats of Burst.  Only one coat of top coat was required to smooth everything out.. which was a pleasant surprise!!

Lynnderella A Party of a Dress

Happy Wednesday Evening!!  I've had a hectic day, but want to post this quick before the season finale of American Horror Story.. I'm both sad and excited!  I don't want it to be over already, but now I won't have nightmares every Wednesday night... ;)

Every now and then I'll peek at Lynnderella's Ebay Store and occasionally I'll purchase a polish.  I really liked A Party of a Dress.. this was my most recent purchase..  Here it is over SpaRitual Undercurrent..

Lynnderella A Party of a Dress:

This was pretty difficult for me to capture correctly.  You have to get a shot in just the right light.  Lynnderella A Party of a Dress is "magenta and pink holographic with an underlining of small royal blue holographic glitter, intense blue-pink shimmer as well as iridescent blue flakes and hexagons."

I really like this over SpaRitual Undercurrent.  Maybe next time I'll try it over a light blue so you can see the royal blue glitter a bit better.  Pictured above is one coat of A Party of a Dress over Undercurrent, followed by top coat.

Have you purchased a Lynnderella lately?  Which did you choose?  I still think Thank Blue is my all-time favorite Lynnderella!!

Comparison Post..China Glaze No Plain Jane vs SpaRitual Bismuth

Happy Friday!!  I've had a few requests for comparison posts.  I haven't done many as I find it a little hard for me to spot dupes in the bottle.  Recently I purchased both China Glaze No Plain Jane and SpaRitual Bismuth.  They look pretty similar in the bottle, so I jumped at the opportunity to post a comparison..  First, I'll show each polish on it's own..

China Glaze No Plain Jane:

No Plain Jane (from The Bohemian Collection) is a very pretty duochrome that shifts from pink to purple.  The formula is a bit sheer.  I used two coats, but probably should have applied another.  I really like duochromes in the sunlight, but a lot of them are just kinda "meh" for me most of the time.

SpaRitual Bismuth:

Bismuth (from the new Metal Collection) seems to shift more from brown to pinkish with hints of green.  Bismuth is more of a multi-chrome.  It's really pretty, but the formula is very sheer.  Four coats are needed for full opacity.

Comparison Shot:
Bismuth on index and ring fingers, No Plain Jane on middle and pinkie fingers
No dupes here.  As you can see, Bismuth is much more warmer toned with stronger pink/brown shifts (ooh, I should totally compare this one to Models Own Pinky Brown!!)  No Plain Jane leans strongly toward purple.  I like both of these polishes despite their sheer formulas.  Which one do you prefer?  Do you like duo-chromes??

Enjoy your weekend!!  :)

SpaRitual Conglomerate, Basalt & Lithophonic

Happy Monday Everyone!!  The weekends fly by so fast.. especially in the summer!!  I hate to preview fall colors because I never want summer to end, but I really liked the look of these three colors from SpaRitual's Rock- Fall 2012 Collection..  Let's take a look..

SpaRitual Conglomerate:
Conglomerate

Conglomerate

Conglomerate
Ok, so this one is totally reminding me of Afternoon Thunderstorm by Happy Hands that I just posted on Friday!!  LOL.. kinda strange!  Anyway, I like Afternoon Thunderstorm much better.  Conglomerate looks really cool in the bottle, but the formula just plain sucks!  The glitter is too gritty, the formula is too runny and the gold shimmer is barely even visible unless you're in direct sunlight.  I really expected more from SpaRitual.  I guess I'll cut them some slack since they don't make many glitters, but Conglomerate was a disappointment. :(  Pictured above is three coats with a fast-dry topcoat.

SpaRitual Basalt:
Basalt

Basalt

Basalt
Basalt is a deep charcoal grey cream with yet another runny formula!!  Ugh.. I couldn't believe it!!  Application was hard with Basalt because it was so thin!  I like the final result and finish, but I don't use polishes just based on a nice color, the formula has to be decent too!

SpaRitual Lithophonic:
Lithophonic

Lithophonic- direct sunlight

Lithophonic- direct sunlight
Come on Lithophonic, YOU gotta save this review!!.. Yes, I absolutely love Lithophonic!!  I love browns and this one is really unique!  Lithophonic has a golden/green shimmer.. it's more gold in the sun, and more of a green in natural light!  The formula was fantastic with this one too.  Pictured above is two flawless coats!!  If you're a warm golden brown lover, I highly recommend Lithophonic this fall!!

There you have it..I like one out of the three I chose to purchase.  I'm wondering how Slate, Quartz, and Marble (the remaining three left in this collection) compare??  Do you have any from SpaRitual's Rock- Fall 2012 Collection?  What are your thoughts???

Have a great week!!

Rainbow Favorites-- Pink!!

Happy Weekend Everyone!!  I'm sad to say it's the last day in the Rainbow Week Challenge, but I'm happy it ends with PINK!!!  Pinks are my favorite!!  I have two to share with you today along with some black & white glitter topcoats.  First I'll be sharing my current favorite pink: SpaRitual Camellia..
***PICTURE HEAVY***
SpaRitual Camellia:

Camellia is a pretty "pepto" pink as I like to call it.  It's from SpaRitual's Summer 2012 Pigment Collection.  I love the color of Camellia, but application wasn't the greatest.  Although it's highly pigmented, Camellia goes on too thin for my liking and after three coats, you can still see bald spots close to my cuticles. :(  After I applied Colorblind by Dandy Nails, things started to look up..

Dandy Nails Colorblind over Camellia:

Colorblind is my favorite black and white indie polish.  I love it's simplicity...no shimmer, no bar glitter, just medium sized black and white hex!  Only one coat was needed.. I love that in a glitter!!!  Colorblind looks awesome over almost any color.  Another Indie I'm in love with!!  Colorblind by Dandy Nails can be purchased here on their Etsy store.

So, I've saved my all-time favorite pink for last.  I did a post on this one last October when I first started this blog.  (Oh my, those pics were bad LOL).  Here it is again..  Lex Cosmetics Sassy Pants..

Lex Cosmetics Sassy Pants:

This pink is absolutely stunning!  It was my favorite back in October and it remains my favorite today!! :)  Sassy Pants is a rich berry creme that dries with amazing shine!  Pictured above is two coats without top coat.  Flawless application, perfect color for me!! Sassy Pants and many other amazing colors can be purchased here.  I almost didn't top this one with a black and white glitter, but I had this post all planned out to show two black and whites, so I followed through with the plan..

All That Glitters Diamond Rug over Sassy Pants:

After looking at these two pictures, I'm happy I topped Sassy Pants with Diamond Rug by All That Glitters! Diamond Rug has black and white diamond shaped glitter in a clear base.  It's simple like Colorblind and I love this one also.  I did have to "dig" a bit to get enough glitter on the brush.  Pictured above is two coats followed by Cult Nails Wicked Fast topcoat.  You can purchase Diamond Rug here on their Etsy store. ( I highly recommend Cha Cha Twist too!)

**There you have it, Kids..  the Rainbow Favorites Challenge is over.    Thanks to Bec at Lacquer Dreams for creating this fun challenge!!**

SpaRitual Provocateur (and a quick Zoya Pedi pic)

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!  While on vacation last week, my sister-in-law and I went to a spa and I got a manicure.  I was kinda hesitant at first because I'm picky about the shape of my nails, but I had just broke two nails earlier that day, so I figured they couldn't look much worse.. ;)  We went to a cute little spa called "Aqua" in the the town of Duck that overlooked the sound-side of the Outer Banks-- it had such a pretty view!  Anyway, this spa used SpaRitual products and I chose Provocateur for my manicure..

SpaRitual Provocateur:

Ahh... As you can see, the nails I broke were my index and middle.  She gave them a round shape which I don't like, but I do like this color.  Yep, of course it's pinkish.. did you think I'd pick anything different?? ;)  A berry pink creme.. my favorite.  The nail tech tried to talk me in to a shimmer, but I declined.  I love my cremes.  I had to buy the bottle of  Provocateur so I could touch-up my nails as the tips wore.  The formula and durability of Provocateur were both great. This is two coats.  I'm happy to add this one to my collection and I'm sure I'll wear it on my toes soon.  It looks nice with a tan :)

Sorry if feet gross you out.. I wore Zoya Zuza on my toes all week.  I love her!!

Girly Girl Challenge Day 6- Who Inspires You?

Hey Guys.. It's time for Day 6 of the Girly Girl Nail Art Challenge.  Today's post is dedicated to someone who inspires you..show some love to your favorite female role model by creating gorgeous nails in their honor..
I knew right away who my female role model was... MY MOTHER!!  My mom is the greatest and I'm so fortunate to have her in my life!  Now, the hard part.. figuring out a mani that honors my mom.  She and I are similar when it comes to looks, but our taste in clothes, decor, cars, just about anything differ dramatically!!  My mom and I also have total different tastes in nail polish colors.  She seems to gravitate more toward warmer colors (oranges, corals, and golds) and I like cooler colors (pink, purples, blues).

In this mani, I'm wearing Hidden Reef by SpaRitual.  This color totally reminds me of one my mom would pick.  I stamped a flower on my ring finger because she and I plant tons of flowers every spring/summer..

A mani in honor of my mom :)

Yeah, I kinda suck at stamping, but the flower turned out half-decent.  Now that I've worn this color, I think I'll give it to my mom..  it will suit her much more than me. :)  Love You, Mom :)

SpaRitual Ripple Effect and Lynnderella LavenDear!

Hey Everyone!!  Hope you all had a good weekend!  I did... I received an awesome nail mail package full of Lynnderellas!!  Yay!!  The new Lynnderellas are part of a collection called "Lovely is as Lovely Does."  I'm glad I can share at least one of these colors with you before Valentine's Day seeing they all have Valentine's/Love inspired names and colors.  I also just received SpaRitual's Spring Collection which contains some beautiful colors also.  Two colors from these collection seemed to match up really well... Ripple Effect and LavenDear, so I will share them with you today! :)

SpaRitual Ripple Effect:
Ripple Effect- direct light

Ripple Effect- with flash

Ripple Effect- indirect light
Ripple Effect is so pretty.  It's a deep lilac creme.  It's not too light and not too dark.  This formula is awesome.  I used two coats for full coverage.  It's a happy color.. so suitable for spring!! :)

LavenDear over Ripple Effect:

I'll admit it.. I love this glitter!!  I love everything about it!  Lynnderella describes LavenDear as: "A blend of lavender multi-sized hexagons and squares with a touch of holographic pink in a sheer pink-violet base with a hint of iridescent blue shimmer."  I know why I love this one... it's the PINK!!  I'm a pink lover and those subtle hints of pink totally make this polish amazing!  I'm so happy I picked this one!  Above pictures are two coats of LavenDear over Ripple Effect followed by one coat of gelous and one coat of Out the Door topcoat.  This glitter was so easy to apply and it really didn't need the coat of gelous as LavenDear wasn't very gritty.

These colors both put me in the mood for spring!!  They're gorgeous.

You can buy Lynderella's polishes on Llarowe's site for $15 each.  They sell out fast, so keep checking back and maybe you'll snag a few :)
