butter LONDON Two Fingered Salute

Happy Weekend Everyone!!  I had a good swatching day today.  It was sunny and it's supposed to stay that way for a few days!!  Yay!!  I've seen quite a few pictures and reviews of butter LONDON Two Fingered Salute and thought it was gorgeous, so I ordered my own bottle from Nordstrom's online.  I think this polish is exclusive to Nordstrom's.

butter LONDON Two Fingered Salute:

The color of Two Fingered Salute is unique to anything I own and the formula is flawless!!  I have two coats followed by topcoat in the above pictures.  This polish is such a pretty teal/seafoam/aqua with tons of mini golden flakes.  I'm usually not a huge fan of flakes, but I'm loving how subtle they are in this polish.  They're a nice change from the textured glitters I'm constantly swatching.  I love this color!  I loved the name...until I found out it didn't mean "peace."  I guess you shouldn't give the peace-sign with your palms facing in while visiting London..  LOL!!  butter LONDON is quickly becoming one of my favorite brands.  I think I love each and every one I own!!

--You can purchase Two Fingered Salute here for $14.

butter LONDON Big Smoke and Elixir Lacquers Kind of Connery

Hey Everyone!!  It's Monday and I'm back from my vacation in North Carolina.  I had such a nice time with my family, but the weather wasn't the greatest.  Anywho.. back to blogging.  All my posts from last week were scheduled a week ahead of time, so I really haven't written a post in a while.  I wore these two gorgeous blues together right before vacation.  Take a look.

butter LONDON Big Smoke:

Big Smoke is a beautiful glossy metallic dusty navy blue.  Application was no problem and full opacity was reached with three light coats.  This one was way shinier than it looks in the bottle and I really like it.  I own about ten butter LONDONS and they all really have a great formula and application!

Hold on to your hats... up next is Kind of Connery by Elixir Lacquers.  I've done posts on With a K and Supa Sugar Bee, both by Elixir Lacquers, and I absolutely love them!  Kind of Connery doesn't disappoint either..

Kind of Connery over Big Smoke:

Kind of Connery has: "blue, green and silver micro glitter, plus light blue, silver, lime and white hex glitter, suspended in a blue jelly base."  I really love the lime glitter in this one.  When you catch it in the right lighting, it's so beautiful.  Kind of Connery was kinda hard for me to photograph, but it's gorgeous!

All of my Elixir Lacquer Polishes are remarkable!!  Nicole at Nail Polish Wars is such a talented Indie Creator!!  Hurry over to Elixir Lacquers and pick up some of her beauties now!! :)

**Have a great week!!*

Skeptical Saturday Mani.. butter LONDON The Black Knight

It's time for a Skeptical Saturday Mani Post.  Today I decided on butter LONDON The Black Knight.  I've heard mixed opinions on this one.  It seems like people either love it or hate it.  I usually like dark colors with multicolored glitter, so I had the opportunity to get my hands on this one in a swap, so I decided to try it.  Let's see how it turned out..

butter LONDON The Black Knight:

The formula with The Black Knight was thick and splotchy.  I applied three coats.  I do like the blue, red and pink glitter, especially with the black base.  I like the concept of this polish, but the formula, the grittiness and the dullness (I added 2 coats of China Glaze Fast Forward) just isn't worth it in my opinion.  The Black Knight is pretty while it lasts, which isn't long. (I applied it before bed and it was already chipping late the next morning).

This one was just more trouble than it was worth in my opinion.  What do you think?  Do you own The Black Knight?

OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips and butter LONDON Disco Biscuit

Happy Pink Wednesday!  I have two new gorgeous pinks to share with you today!!  OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips from the 2012 Spring Holland Collection and butter LONDON Disco Biscuit from their new Spring Collection..

First up is OPI Kiss Me On My Tulips:

I just love all the new cremes OPI released with the Holland Collection.  Kiss Me On My Tulips is no exception.. Hot Pink + Creme = two of my favorite things in a polish!!  This one isn't too bright.. it's just right.  It's a cooler toned pink, so Kiss Me On My Tulips goes nicely with my skintone.  Pictured above is two coats.

I was going to swatch butter LONDON Disco Biscuit on it's own, but thought it may turn out too sheer, so I paired it up with Kiss Me On My Tulips..

Disco Biscuit over Kiss Me On My Tulips:

This is two coats of Disco Biscuit over KMOMT.  Disco Biscuit is a thicker pink jelly with puple/pink sparkling micro glitter.  Disco Biscuit looks darker than it actually is over KMOMT.  Disco Biscuit dries a bit dull and it's gritty to the point where it could almost use a thin coat of Gelous before a topcoat.  I do like this one, though.  It's unique to my collection.  Next time, I'll wear it alone on a sunny day so it will really shine!!

Have a great day!!

butter LONDON Slapper and Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed..

Hey All..  I have two new colors from two new spring collections to share with you today..  First up is butter LONDON Slapper.  I wasn't sure how I felt about this color when I saw it in the bottle, but once I applied it, I fell in love..

Here is two coats of butter LONDON Slapper:

Slapper is deceiving.  It's really strange how light these pictures look because in reality, this color is much darker, but I LOVE how Slapper looks in these pictures. Slapper is a bright creamy teal with a fantastic formula...it applies like a dream..I just wish I could have captured it's true color for you.

Next up it Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed.  I pre-ordered their Let's Get Nekkid! Collection especially for this color.  The other colors are pretty (shimmery browns and nudes), but Toxic Seaweed is a beauty that stands alone..

Here is three coats of Toxic Seaweed:

Ahh.. it's so pretty.  Full of  golden glitter and reddish flakies in a green jelly base, Toxic Seaweed is easily one of my new favorite polishes for spring!!  I love it!!  You can see a few "bald spots" even with three coats, but they aren't as visible in real life.

I assumed this one may require a darker base so, I paired it up with Slapper..

Two coats of Toxic Seaweed over Slapper:
Toxic Seaweed over Slapper

Toxic Seaweed over Slapper
I like this combo.  Slapper makes it look lighter than it actually is, but it's still gorgeous!  I think I have a spot in my helmer for Toxic Seaweed... right beside Unicorn Puke. :)

Have a great Friday!! :)

Skeptical Saturday Mani.. butter LONDON Trout Pout

Hey Everyone.. It's time for another Skeptical Saturday Mani.  I know this one is late.  It's after 10pm on Saturday, but I didn't have time earlier to post.  butter LONDON just released their Spring Collection and Trout Pout is part of it. I ordered a few of these online at rickysnyc.com and was pleasantly surprised with their extremely fast shipping!!

Trout Pout is described as: "An opaque shade of cantaloupe- pale and retro."  It kinda reminds me of  My Skeptical Saturday Post of Zoya Maya...only lighter.  I don't usually like peachy corals (or corals, period), but I decided to give Trout Pout a shot..

butter LONDON Trout Pout:

Trout Pout is another one of those colors I really don't care for in person, but I like it in pictures.  I wore this color for a few hours, then removed it.  I just don't like it on me.  The formula wasn't that great either.  I had to apply three coats and Trout Pout was still a bit streaky.  This one goes up for swaps.. Anyone interested?

The color is pretty... it's just not for me.

butter LONDON... No More Waity, Katie

Here's another one of my untrieds.  I purchased No More Waity, Katie at Ulta back in the summer and I'm just now trying it.  If you don't know already, The name is referring to Kate Middleton... get it??  She's not waiting anymore..  Ok, I've heard many people complain about the formula  or not liking NMWK and I don't really blame them...

No More Waity, Katie has small lilac glitter in a greyish-lavender base.  The glitter isn't overwhelming as the base conceals it a lot.  The above pictures were all taken indoors in natural light (no sunshine today).  This is three generous coats and you can still see "bald spots" on my right finger especially.  The formula wasn't hard to work with, I just think NMWK would work better over a solid color (ex: OPI Planks A lot or Do You Lilac It?)

Here is NMWK with flash:
Have you tried No More Waity, Katie yet?  What are your thoughts?

butter LONDON... Saucy Jack

Hey Everyone... I had to remove that Chocolate Candy Mani and I was in the mood for red, so I picked Saucy Jack from butter LONDON.  I ordered this color along with Queen Vic when Ulta had that BOGO free day about a month ago.  I stayed up til midnight the day before the sale thinking it would start then, but no such luck. I think I woke up around 7-8am and the sale had just started online.  I know they sold out fast, so I got lucky.

This mani consists of:
-zoya anchor basecoat
-3 coats Saucy Jack
-Essie Good to Go! topcoat

OK, so the only other butter LONDON I've tried was Primrose Hill Picnic... which I absolutely loved!!  I had high hopes for today's mani.  I pleased with the final result, but application was a PITA!!!  This formula was too runny for me and way to sheer.  It's not a jelly... it was just..... well.. messy.  I really had to touch this one up A LOT.  I also have a feeling this one is going to stain.  (Hope I'm wrong)
sorry for the finger prints
I'm a bit disappointed in this formula because these polishes cost so much.  At $14 each, you'd almost expect them to apply themselves. :)  I do like the results and I will keep this mani for the weekend.  Hopefully it holds up well.

Do you own any butter LONDONS?  Which is your favorite?  Are they worth $14?
