Christmas Trees

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!  I finally found some time to try some Holiday Nail Art.. Christmas Trees!  The only nail art I'm semi-good at is water marbling, so these trees are a little wonky..

I started with a base of LVX Luxe.  After that completely dried I used nail stripers in blue, gold and red for the trees. (They're kinda wide because I kept going over them to make them even).  After the trees dried, I applied a thick coat of topcoat and used tweezers to place the top stars. :)  Happy Holidays Everyone!!

OPI... Smitten With Mittens

Merry Christmas Everyone!!  I picked OPI's Smitten With Mittens for my Christmas Day Mani!  This is the first time I've worn this polish, as I have it more as a "Collector's Item."  Smitten With Mittens is from OPI's 2009 Holiday Wishes Collection and it's a "Hard to Find" (HTF) polish.

Here is two coats of Smitten With Mittens with Poshe Topcoat:

Smitten With Mittens is a rich cherry red full of small red and gold glitter.  The formula almost reminds me of a jelly finish because the glitter isn't so profound... it seems to shine through the red base like it would with a candy mani.  Regardless, I love Smitten With Mittens.  It's a wonderful Christmas Red!!

China Glaze.. Party Hearty

Happy Christmas Eve!!  I gotta make this post quick.. I almost forgot it, but I had to post because this glitter is perfect for Christmas...

This is two coats of Party Hearty over OPI's Alpine Snow.  I love this glitter...  As far as glitters go, it's simple and it's fantastic for a Christmas Mani!!  Small green glitter, mixed with larger red hex glitter and micro gold glitter in a clear base!

OPI.. DS Magic and a Christmas Tree..

AHHH.. It's Christmas Eve Eve and I'm stressin'.  I did manage to wrap all my presents today, though..  Are you all ready??

 Today I have a gorgeous deep blue sparkle to share with you.  It's OPI's DS (Designer Series) Magic...

DS Magic is such a rich, deep royal blue... it's almost too blue.  It screams BLLLLLUUUUEEEE!  LOL.. I do like it, though.  I'm really liking blues lately.  DS Magic is filled with purple, pink and blue sparkle although my camera only captures the blue.  The finish is like a foil except the formula isn't as dense as most foils.  Pictured above is three generous coats.  I decided to get a bit creative and stamp a Christmas Tree, but as you can see.. it's a bit crooked... ;)  Kinda reminds me of our tree down in the living room that's starting to dry up and lean to the right. :)

Holiday Candy Mani..

I love Candy Manis, so I decided to try a "Holiday Themed" Candy Mani...  Well, this mani fits but for the wrong holiday ..lol.  This mani looks a bit "vampy".. like a nice halloween candy mani...

Ok, so I used: one coat of OPI Vodka and Caviar, then added one coat of Color Club Holiday Splendor, then topped it off with another coat of Vodka and Caviar.  (I call this a candy mani, some people call it a jelly sandwich).  Anyhow, I didn't think the red would look so dark, because in the bottle, Vodka and Caviar is more of a true red.  I should have used a pink glitter in the middle... this greenish glitter was too dark.  Oh well, it's still pretty and kinda festive ;)

Lynnderella One Nutty Fruitcake..

Yep, Another Lynnderella!!  I had to post this one now because it pertains to the holidays (and I just love my Lynnderella's!!)  I swatched One Nutty Fruitcake over two colors..

First up is One Nutty Fruitcake over Bettina Flip Flops:

I do love this combo, but this is the first time I had difficulty applying a Lynnderella.  It was hard for me to get the glitter to spread evenly with One Nutty Fruitcake, so I continued to apply it and it started to "eat away" Bettina Flip Flops (notice the bald spot on my ring finger.)   Maybe I should have waited a bit longer for Flip Flops to dry, but it was dry to touch, so I decided to try One Nutty Fruitcake over another color..

Here is One Nutty Fruitcake over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Bubblegum Pink:

This combo looks better to me.  The multi-colored glitter really stands out over  Bubblegum Pink.  Lynnderella describes One Nutty Fruitcake as having: "black squares with fuchsia, red, purple, turquoise, green, orange, yellow and cyan square glitter in a clear base, as well as red, green, purple, blue and magenta micro glitter."  Whoa... that's A LOT of glitter!!  I really do just love all my Lynnderella polishes!

Snowman Mani...

Hey Everyone.. It's the week of Christmas and I'm crazy busy, but here is a quick post of my first attempt at snowmen:

Eh, the fist snowman is a little crazy.  I applied his scarf too low, but you can still tell he's a snowman.. lol.  I used two coats of Zoya Jo (base color), one coat of China Glaze Snow Globe, added the white (OPI Alpine Snow) with a dotting tool, then then added the scarf, hat, eyes, and buttons with nail art polishes. :)

Now, if we only had some snow around here to build a snowman!  Usually there is snow by this time of the year, but we really haven't had much snow at all here in Ohio.  Have any of you built a snowman yet this year??

Lacquistry...Twinkling Tree & OPI... Gettin' Miss Piggy With It

Here's another festive mani..

I know, I know... I need a bottle of Gelous!!  LOL  While this color is pretty, it looks like some sort of reptile's skin decorated for Christmas without gelous! :)  Twinkling Tree is a franken I bought on Etsy.  You can purchase a ton of other great frankens by Lacquistry here.  Twinkling Tree is so thick with glitter!!  I don't wear glitter that often, but I definitely need a bottle of gelous to fill in the grit with this one.  I love the colors, especially the accent highlights that sparkle like lights on the tree.

I felt Twinkling Tree was missing something, so I added one coat of OPI's Gettin' Miss Piggy With It:

Gettin' Miss Piggy With It was just what Twinkling Tree needed.. a little more red AND it tamed the gritty feel and look a little.

Christmas is almost here... I wonder what else I'll come up with for future posts??  Stay tuned ;)

Abstract Christmas Tree Mani..

This is the first time I've used a nail art pen.  I'm "new" to nail art and stamping, so this isn't perfect, but I think it's cute.  This mani was inspired by this youtube tutorial.

First I painted my nails with Orly Lucky Duck:

Then I used Sally Hansen's Nail Art Pen in white to draw the Christmas trees:

I did a snowflake on my "nubbin" :)

Then I added tree toppers and ornaments with various colors using a dotting tool:

After everything completely dried, I topped it off with China Glaze Fairy Dust:

kinda cute, huh? ;)
