31DC2012 Day 14, Flowers

Yay for Friday!!  And... yay for flowers.  I love them, I'm just not to great at floral nail art.. ugh.  Sunflowers are my favorite flower.  I have tons still blooming behind our garage.  I tried sunflowers once before with a dotting tool and they weren't the greatest and neither are these, but I do see improvement!! :)

I think I need a thinner brush and some acrylic paint.  For this mani I started with a base of China Glaze Kinetic Candy.  I used Sally Hansen Bittersweet for the centers, mixed some of that with Bettina Sunrise for some of the petals, then just Sunrise for the rest.  Yep, I'll keep on practicing :)

See ya tomorrow for a "delicate" mani.. Ugh, I may try to stamp and that probably won't be pretty either..

31DC2012 Day 13, Animal Print

Happy Thursday Everyone!  I have a quick post of my version of nail art for Animal Print day.  I've had these Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips for a while now and never got around to wearing them and today's challenge presented the perfect opportunity!!

Are they supposed to be a blue leopard??  maybe a blue cow??  lol... regardless, they're cute and so easy to apply.  I did this post using Sally Hansen's Pedicure Effects a while back and I wore them for a week.  They weren't even wearing or peeling, I just wanted to change my mani.  I only wore the above strips for a day (because I had to change my mani), but I'm sure I could have worn them much longer..  They're supposed to last "up to 10 days" and I believe it!!

31 DC2012 Day 12, Stripes

It's the 12th day of the 31 Day Nail Challenge (well, the 2nd day for me) and it's all about stripes!!!  I kinda suck at freehand stripes..  I never could draw a straight line lol.  I decided to do my stripes with a water marble!!  I created this striped marble a while back following this tutorial by My Simple Little Pleasures and thought it would be fun to re-create it with different colors...

Ahh, there's a tiny hair on my middle finger!!  That's bugs the crap out of me!!  Grrr!  For this marble I started with a base of China Glaze Lemon Fizz.  For the marble, I used Lemon Fizz and China Glaze Grape Juice.  It works for me!!    I'll be back tomorrow with an Animal Print Mani... 31DC2012 Day 11, Polka Dots

Ahhhh.... this day.  September 11th.  I can't believe it's been 11 years... I will NEVER forget!!!

When I first read about the 31 Day Challenge, I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with the first ten days.  I already had a bunch of posts scheduled and a bunch I had to finish, so  I decided to do days 11-20. I asked my pal Sarah at Chalkborard Nails if that was okay, and she said I could do whatever I wanted.  ;)  So, this challenge is going to be my "10 Day Challenge."

Here are my polka dots..

I wish my nails were a little longer, especially when doing a mani like this.  I grabbed four of my Lime Crime Polishes for this polka dot mani.  I knew when I first swatched them, I'd use them for nail art.  I used Parfait Day for the base and Milky Ways, Pastelchio, and Once In A Blue Mousse for the dots.  I
