My Ten Friends Halloween 2013

Hey Everyone!!  Happy New Week!!  October is winding down, so I'll be sharing some Halloween Collections with you this week..  The first one up is "In Space, No One Can Hear You Scre-" by My Ten Friends.

Vampire Planet:

Mei-Lynn at My Ten Friends describes Vampire Planet as a "bloodied pink raspberry polish with flashes of delicious purple."  This one also contains larger black hex glitter and scattered holo glitter.  I really love the base color of Vampire Planet.. it's such a gorgeous pink.  In the above three photos I used two generous coats plus a thick coat of top coat.  The formula was a bit thick, but Mei-Lynn is already aware of this and is working on thinning out further batches of Vampire Planet.

Alien Blood:

I'm in love with Alien Blood!!!  The base is a "murky green", but it's still so beautiful and I just love the green and black glitters scattered about!!  The lime squares are my favorite!!  What gorgeous color combos!!!  I again applied two coats followed by topcoat.

Galaxy of Terror:

Galaxy of Terror is: "galactic black nail polish super charged with loads of silver and holo glitters."  I love the red glitters too, especially the random red hexes!!  I really like this polish because the base is transparent enough to allow all the amazing glitter to shine through!!  The formula was great with this one too!!  Two coats with topcoat!!

42:

Mei-Lynn also sent me a bottle of the re-formulated 42 to review. (This is not part of the Halloween Collection.)  This polish has a gorgeous light blue base with blues, greens and holo gold glitter scattered about!!  Another two coater!!  Love this one also!!

My Ten Friends- The Sparkly Cycle of Summer Collection

Hey Everyone.. Hope you're having a great Tuesday!!  I have an amazing collection from My Ten Friends to share with you today.  This collection is called: "The Sparkly Cycle of Summer Collection" and it contains three gorgeous glitters..

Solar Dragon:

"Solar Dragon represents the heat of the summer afternoon...based on a NASA photo of a super hot "dragon tail" (plasma) erupting from the sun's surface."  Solar Dragon is my favorite of these three!!  I love the burnt orange base filled with golden holographic glitters that change from yellow, pink and green!  This polish is so amazing and so is the formula!!  I used two coats of Solar Dragon followed by top coat in the above three pics....sooo gorgeous!!

Space Opera:

"Space Opera represents the glorious setting of the sun... inspired by a photo of sunset on a San Diego beach."  Space Opera has a pretty sheer lilac base filled with pink, white, purple and holo hexes. I really love how the base of each of these polishes has a deep color, but each base is still transparent enough to allow the glitters to pop through.  This is two coats of Space Opera followed by top coat.

Starry Night:

"Starry Night represents dreamy summery nights... inspired by the famous Van Gogh painting "The Starry Night."  The base of this polish is such an amazing color of blue ...AND it does NOT stain!! Blues this rich always seem to stain, but not Starry Night!  This polish represents Van Gogh's painting perfectly, I think.  I love it!!  Once again, two coats followed by top coat.

**I predicted great things from My Ten Friends when I first discovered this brand months ago, and I'm so glad I was right in my prediction!  This brand is definitely one of my favorite indie brands!  Kudos to My Ten Friends and to this beautiful new summer collection!!

My Ten Friends.. Elsewhen and I'm From the Future

Yay!!  An indie post!!  I've missed my indies sooooo much the past few weeks!!  I think my next three posts will be indies.. woo hoo!!  I was so honored when Mei-Lynn, the creator of My Ten Friends, asked me to swatch a couple of her polishes for her Spring Time Space Continuum Collection.  I've been anxiously holding on to these swatches for a while, and I just got the "go ahead" to post my review.. YAY!!  I have Elsewhen  and  I'm From the Future to share with you  and they're both stunningly beautiful..

Elsewhen:

The base of Elsewhen is a shimmery green that's just sheer enough that the various glitters pop through, but dark enough to wear on it's own in just two coats.  Most of the glitters are gold and blue, but you can see the added holo that shines beautifully in the sun!!  Mei-Lynn truly knows the right "recipes" when mixing her polishes because I wouldn't change a thing!!  Gorgeous!!

I'm From the Future:

I'm From the Future has the same semi-sheer base as Elsewhen, but this one is a gorgeous grayish silver.  I really love gray polishes, so I knew I'm From the Future would be a favorite of mine.  The glitters are turquoise, silver and HOLO!!  The holo is more prominent in this one and it's so so soooo pretty!!  Again, I used two coats followed by top coat.

**The official launch date for these two polishes (along with a pretty yellow polish called "Astrochicken") is April 17th, but a few were added to the latest sale and, as of right now, Astrochicken and Elsewhen are still available HERE on Etsy.

Precog from My Ten Friends

Hey Everyone!!  I have a sneak peek of a new polish from My Ten Friends!!  It's called Precog and it will be available Thursday!!  I was so excited when Mei-Lynn at My Ten Friends asked me to do some swatches of this new color for her.  I love her polishes; they are unique to any indie brand I own...

Precog:

Precog has a slate blue shimmery base filled with tons of micro glitter (mostly gold, teal, and holo) and larger gold and teal hex glitter.  I think I've mentioned this before, but I love the darker base color that doesn't overpower the glitter in most polishes by My Ten Friends.  I did a post on Dirtball here back in November and I just love the depth in that one and all of my polishes from My Ten Friends!!

My Ten Friends.. First Contact

My Ten Friends is an indie line I've been obsessed with ever since I found them on Etsy and purchased Dirtball (seen here).  The formula with Dirtball was unlike any indie polish I'd ever tried-- it was as close to perfect as I'd ever seen.  So, when Mei-Lynn (the creator of My Ten Friends) asked me to swatch one of her upcoming polishes for her new Valentine's Line called "Kiss of the Cosmos", I was beyond excited and honored.

This polish is called First Contact and should be available later this week (along with four other beauties)

First Contact:

First Contact has such a gorgeous base!!  It's very light tan (almost nude) and contains black and silver glitter and tons of holographic micro glitter.  The formula is AMAZING!!  It's so smooth and shiny!!  There is absolutely no grittiness AT ALL!!  I was lucky to have some sunshine when I wore First Contact.  You can see just how gorgeous the holo glitter is!  Everything about this polish is utterly amazing!! I have three coats of First Contact followed by top coat in the above pictures.  I predicted My Ten Friends would be a new indie shop to keep your eyes on for brilliant polishes, and I'm proving myself right!!  Yay!!

Indie Week continues with Candeo Colors and My Ten Friends

Ok, so I hadn't really planned on this week being "Indie Week", but I've swatched so many indies lately, I think I'll have enough to post for the entire week..  Yep, my "indie addiction" shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon ;)

I have two extremely gorgeous polishes to share with you today...Candeo Colors Smores and My Ten Friends Dirtball..

Candeo Colors Smores:

I have a deep love for chocolate brown polishes and I've had my eye on Smores for a while, so while I was browsing Llarowe's site, I decided to pick this one up along with a few others.  I have a zillion indies, but very few of them contain brown glitter.  Smores has brown hex, square, and micro glitter, white hex and scattered micro holo in a clear base.  I have one coat of Smores over OPI San Tan-tonio  followed by topcoat in the above pics.  I really love this combo!  It makes crave s'mores!!

Up next is Dirtball from My Ten Friends.  This brand is new to me and this polish is another gorgeous brown..

My Ten Friends Dirtball:

Whoa!  I'm totally in love with everything about this polish!!! Dirtball is such a gorgeous mix.. it has a brown base with beautiful turquoise, holo and brown glitters.  I haven't come across a formula and glitter ratio as perfect as Dirtball in....well.. EVER!!  It's just freaking amazing!!!  I only used two coats of Dirtball followed by one coat of topcoat in the above pictures.  I couldn't stop gazing at my nails while wearing this and I did not want to remove it!!  Dirtball gets 5 STARS from me!!
