::whimsical ideas by pam:: Just Add Milk

Happy Weekend Everyone!!  Just a quick post today as I have a Holiday Party to attend in about an hour.  I was baking cookies with my step-daughters last night and thought Just Add Milk by ::whimsical ideas by pam:: would be the perfect polish to wear for the occasion! ;)  Here it is..

Just Add Milk:

Just Add Milk has a light brown caramel-y milky sheer base with dark brown and golden hex glitters.  This really reminds me of a chocolate chip cookie!!  I love the sheer layering base.. the glitters (chocolate chips) float around in different dimensions.  I used three coats of Just Add Milk for full coverage followed by topcoat.  I have a feeling I'll get my fill of cookies today at my Christmas Party.. HO HO HO!

Random Weekend Indie Spam

Happy Weekend Everyone!!  I have way too many untried polishes, so every now and then I'll grab a random few and swatch away.  I especially have a lot of untried Indies, so here are a handful I recently wore...

Polished Components Mattress Mambo:

Mattress Mambo has a dark base.. darker than brown, lighter than black.  The base isn't a jelly or a creme and it was kinda hard to photograph.  I like the red flakes in Mattress Mambo.  Pictured above is two coats with topcoat.

Polished Components Bubble Bath:

Bubble Bath is extremely gorgeous!  It's not quite a jelly, but it's transparent enough to see the layers of glitter.  The base has great pigmentation and I love the blue and white hex glitter that represents the bubbles. Bubble Bath has pretty shimmer too.  Pictured above is two coats followed by topcoat.

Lacquerhead Polish Boy Crazy:

Ugh, I'm a sucker for matte glitter AND I love this color combo, so I absolutely love Boy Crazy.  I chose to layer two coats of Boy Crazy over China Glaze Sweet Hook followed by topcoat.  Boy Crazy contains blue, pink, purple, green & red small and medium hex glitter in a clear base..  It's simple, versatile, and gorgeous.

The Hungry Asian Sneeze Breeze:

I don't know what took me so long to wear Sneeze Breeze.  I've had it for quite some time.  It's made up of tons of blue and black fine matte glitter in a clear base.  I have three coats in the above photos followed by a coat of gelous, then a topcoat.  It's so pretty, but removal was so hard!

::whimsical ideas by pam:: Nancy's Birthday:

Nancy's Birthday is so much fun!!  I love the shade of pink of the base.  It's a bubble-gum pink jelly packed full of various sizes and colors of hex glitter.  I have two coats followed by topcoat in the above two pictures.  Nancy's Birthday kinda reminds me of Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop.

Sea Lore Ariel:

I have two coats of Ariel layered over Manglaze ILF followed by topcoat in the above pics.  Ariel has a sheer turquoise base with red squares (my fave), purple hex, and small green glitter.  There is a very pretty green shimmer to Ariel also.  I really like the color combo and the glitter ratio with Ariel.. it's beautiful!

::whimsical ideas by pam:: Sweet Baby James & Flower Child

Hey Everyone!  Hope your Tuesday is going well.  I know I've been on a major "indie kick," but I just can't help it... I'm in love with so many of these handmade beauties.  These two by ::whimsical ideas by pam:: are no exception.  Pam recently released six new polishes and the two I'm sharing with you today were the first to catch my eye..  Sweet Baby James and Flower Child.

Sweet Baby James:

Sweet Baby James has a light blue milky base packed with medium pink matte squares, small matte blue squares and small matte white glitters.  You HAVE to dab this polish on as it's really thick, but you'll need almost three coats as the base is so sheer that you'll have "bald spots."  After three coats of dabbing, a coat of Gelous and a fast-dry topcoat, Sweet Baby James is so pretty.  The name of this polish comes from an old James Taylor song which I absolutely love!  The formula could have been a bit more smooth with Sweet Baby James (I added some thinner after the second application), but all-in-all I like this one. :)

Flower Child:

OK, you can add Flower Child to my "favorites list."  Everything about this one is incredible!!  I have two coats of Flower Child followed by a fast-dry topcoat in the pictures above.  I love the simplicity of this one and the formula is amazing also!!  Flower Child's base is a bit more opaque than Sweet Baby James.  Flower Child has a periwinkle base with different sizes of shimmery pink glitter.  The formula dries so smooth with Flower Child, I almost didn't apply a topcoat.  And... I swear this one even smells like flowers, but Pam says it's not supposed to lol.  I'll be wearing Flower Child for a while. :)

Rainbow Favorites-- RED!!

Happy Sunday Everyone!!  Hope your weekend is going well.  I usually don't post on Sundays, but I joined Lacquer Dreams A Rainbow themed week of favorites nail challenge.  The concept is quite simple.. Each day, post your favorite color of the rainbow starting with RED.  Tomorrow will be orange, then yellow, green, blue, purple, and finally ending with pink!!  So, it's really hard for me to pick my all-time favorite of each color, so I'll just post my "current fave."

Today we have RED...

China Glaze Salsa:

Salsa is a gorgeous blue-toned semi sheer red.  Pictured above is two coats.  I really love this red paired with my skin-tone.  Cool colors agree with me and red is the color I notice the most between "warms" and "cools".  Warm toned reds look hideous on me.  Here is a helpful link to determine your skintone.

Of course, I had to layer something over Salsa..  I chose Whimsical Ideas by Pam Butterfly Kisses:

I've been waiting all week for this post!!  This polish is so amazing.  I love when a polish is simple and unique all at the same time. I stumbled across Seuss when I saw a "nail mail post" by someone in a polish group on facebook.  I instantly ordered Seuss after seeing that post..

Seuss:

Seuss may be THE PERFECT glitter suspended in a jelly!!  I love everything about this polish!!  Seuss has medium red hex, large silver hex and tiny shimmer in an amazingly beautiful blue jelly base.  I love how you can "see through" the base to the layers of glitter beneath :)  Pictured above it three generous coats of Seuss.  The glitter applied evenly and I didn't have to shake the bottle forever like some glitters before application.
