Happy Weekend Everyone!!!  Fall is definitely in the air here in Ohio... it's chilly today!  I'm sad to see summer come to an end, so here's a post of two shiny, sunny, sparkly holos from Born Pretty!  The quality of these polishes is great, although the bottles are quite small (only 6ml).  Let's take a look..

July 4th Water Marble

Happy 4th of July to my American followers!!  I finally had some time to create another water marble!!  I haven't worn one in such a long time!!

-Press Sample
A nice white base is required for most water marbles, and I used this one from Born Pretty.  It's a brand called Sweet Color and it works really well in marbles:

You can purchase this white creme (plus many other colors) from Sweet Color HERE.  If you use my code ZR5X31, you'll receive 10% off your entire order.  Born Pretty carries tons of awesome nail art products!!

Along with the white creme from Sweet Color, I also used NOPI Be Ama-zing! and Challenge Red-y to create this patriotic marble.  All of the colors worked well together and I'm really pleased with the final result!!  I kinda wish I hadn't added the dots because they kinda make things a bit too "busy" for my liking.  LOL!!

Hope you're all enjoying your holiday!  Did you create any Patriotic Manis??

3D Nail Art with Flowers and Bows from Born Pretty

--Bow and flower sequins were provided for review
Hey Everyone!  Hope  you're all having a great Thursday!!  Today I have some cute bow & flower 3D sequins from Born Pretty to share with you... These are really easy to use and they're so cute..

Flowers over Essie Full Steam Ahead:

I used two coats of Essie Full Steam Ahead as the base color for the flowers.  I then added a generous coat of top coat and carefully placed each flower (I used tweezers for better placement) close to my cuticle.  The top coat acts as an adhesive, but nail glue probably would have worked better.

Bows over OPI My Very First Knockwurst:

The bows are a bit too big for my nails, but they're cute.  I like this comb of colors.. I forgot how amazing OPI My Very First Knockwurst is!!!  Gah!!

These manis are cute.  They only lasted a few hours on me because I didn't use glue.  I wouldn't expect them to last more than a day even with the glue because they get knocked around a lot (with me anyway lol).  They're so inexpensive, though... I think they're worth trying.  You'll definitely get numerous comments on your fun mani!!

**You can purchase a HUGE assortment of these (and other colors) here on Born Pretty.  Born Pretty carries tons of fun nail art items and if you used my code ZR5X31 at checkout, you'll receive 10% off!!!

Flocking Powder from Born Pretty + Tutorial

Happy Weekend!!  I've been curious about flocking powder, so I chose this kit from Born Pretty to review and added a short tutorial for you guys.  It's really pretty simple to use, but kinda funky once on your nails.  Take a look..

This kit from Born Pretty included a base coat, a polish (I chose red), velvet (flocking) powder, tweezers and a brush

Start with a generous base coat on all nails.. (ignore my yellowing.. ugh!)

Apply one coat of polish, let dry

You'll have to paint a second coat of polish, one nail at a time. (Do all this over newspaper, scrap paper etc.. to catch the excess flocking powder)  As soon as you apply the second coat to a nail, place your finger on the paper, grab the tweezers and cover entire nail with powder. (you can funnel the extra powder back in to container after each nail is finished).

You'll want to gently pat down the powder to you nail.. I emphasize "gently" because the polish is wet and you don't want it to smear.  You'll then use the brush provided to GENTLY wipe away excess powder (do all this over the paper).  Continue with each nail.

I didn't clean-up as thoroughly as I had anticipated.  I didn't want to smear the polish underneath the powder, but you get the concept.  It seemed like it took forever for the polish to dry, but once it did, (I waited about an hour to use my hands "normally") you can do anything with the flocking powder on your nails.  It feels weird when you run your fingers through your hair and I noticed when I did laundry, every little piece of lint got caught in my nails.  I wouldn't use flocking powder for "every day manis", but it is fun for special occasions or a night out.  Believe me, you'll get a zillion questions and comments on your "furry nails." LOL!!

**You can purchase this set here on Born Pretty.  They have tons of nail art supplies!!  If you use my code: ZR5X31, you'll receive 10% OFF your entire order!!**

More Fun With Striping Tape from Born Pretty

Happy Tuesday Everyone!!  Today I have another mani using Striping Tape from Born Pretty.  I did a mani using the tape differently in this post.  I like using the tape better when you paint over it and create layered stripes, but you can also dress up your mani  using the tape on it's own..

Striping Tape from Born Pretty:

I used all Zoyas for this mani.  I started with a base of Zoya Erika on all my nails.  After that dried completely, I used regular scotch tape and painted on the second color (Zoya CarrieAnn on index and middle and Zoya Starla on ring and pinkie). Remove the scotch tape and apply the striping tape where the two colors meet, add topcoat and you're done.  The striping tape works well to cover any imperfections in your "straight" line.  Of course, I chose pink, black and red... my favorite combo!!

**You can purchase a package of 12 different colors here for only $8.99.. If you use my code ZR5X31, you'll receive an extra 10% OFF!!  Born Pretty carries tons of wonderful nail art supplies!!  Check them out today!!**

Enkelini Jeepers Creepers and Striping Tape from Born Pretty

Happy Wednesday Everyone!!  We have a week until Halloween, so I should start posting more Halloween Manis!!  Today I have a really gorgeous indie polish called Jeepers Creepers from Enkelini... then I decided to add some striping tape from Born Pretty for a cool effect.  First up is Jeepers Creepers alone..

Enkelini Jeepers Creepers:

Jeepers Creepers has such a gorgeous vibrant orange base!!  The formula is excellent.. it's semi-sheer and packed with black, silver, orange and white glitters.  There is a gorgeous gold shimmer added to the base also.  I have two coats of Jeepers Creepers followed by topcoat in the above pics.  I own a few Enkelini polishes and they are all exceptional!!  If you'd like to purchase Jeepers Creepers or any other Enkelini polish.. check out their Etsy shop!

For some cool stripes, just add some striping tape after your base polish is completely dry.  You can arrange it whichever direction you'd like.  Make sure each piece of tape is attached securely to you nail, then top with black (or whatever color you want).  While the polish is still wet, carefully peel away each piece of tape..

This one didn't turn out too bad and I really like the pattern!!

You can purchase a set of 12 different colored striping tapes on Born Pretty.  They carry tons of great nail art supplies and you can save 10% if you use my code ZR5X31!!  I'll show you different ways of using striping tape in upcoming posts too!!

Sweet Color Polish- 005

Happy Saturday Everyone!!  Just a quick post of this pretty lilac cream from Born Pretty to share with you today.  This brand is called Sweet Color and it doesn't seem to have a name... just a number.. 005.

Sweet Color Polish #005:

Sweet Color 005 is a really pretty color.  It reminds me of an Easter Purple.  The formula was great.. only two coats are needed for full opacity.  The only thing I can complain about is... the SMELL... oh Lord, it's horrendous!    If you are sensitive to smells, this polish isn't for you, but if you don't mind a strong smelling polish, the formula is really great and I love the bottles.  They're kinda "squoval" (square + oval) and the gold cap is cute too!

You can buy 005 on bornprettystore.com.  Born Pretty carries tons of  nail art supplies also!!

You can use my coupon code: ZR5X31 for 5% off!!

** I hope you're all enjoying your Holiday Weekend!!**

BK Matte Polishes

Happy Weekend! Here is a quick post of two matte polishes I received from Born Pretty.  I love a good matte polish, so I jumped at the chance to review a couple.. (and of course, I chose pink and red)  :)

BK Red Matte #12:

Not gonna lie, I was skeptical about this brand.  I had never heard of it before, but I was pleasantly surprised with the results!  Some "larger brand" mattes are really hard to work with because they dry too quickly, before you can even finish application.  With theses BK Mattes, that's not the case... they take longer to dry, so you can take your time with application.  I really love this cherry red color and I like how it doesn't dry "completely matte."  You can still see a bit of shimmer.  Above is two coats of BK Nail Polish #12 and here is the direct link to this one.

BK Pink Matte #7:

This one is pretty too.  Application was easy and I really love the finish!  There is just a hint of a purplish shimmer if you look closely.  This is two coats of BK Nail Polish #7 and here is the direct link to this one.

Ylin Mood..Color Changing Nail Polish #6

Happy Wednesday Everyone.  Today I have an interesting color changing polish to share with you.  This a a new brand to me.  It's called Ylin Mood..Color Changing Polish.  The one I am reviewing is just called "#6" and it's a red to pink polish.

Ylin Mood..#6:

To be honest, at first I didn't think this polish even "worked."  You have to apply four coats and the color-change didn't happen for a few hours.  Maybe the polish has to be totally dry before it begins to change.  With that being said, this polish is pretty cool.  When I was cold, the polish was more red, and  when I was warmer (while in the shower or out in the sun), the polish was very light pink.  I took the above pictures right after I washed my hands with warm water.  Obviously, the polish was cooler/darker closer to my nail line.

**You can purchase this polish and other cool nail art supplies at Born Pretty.  You will save 5% by using code ZR5X31!!  Free shipping too!!:
