Cult Nails In The Garden Collection

Hey Everyone!  I hope you're all having a great week!  I haven't purchased an entire polish collection in a while, so I decided to splurge on Cult Nails In The Garden Collection!  It was actually a great deal when they had their pre-sale: 5 polishes for $40!!

Morning Glory:

Morning Glory is a bright fuchsia.. much brighter in real life, but I couldn't capture it's true color with my camera.  The finish of Morning Glory is waxy and I almost could have gotten away with just one coat, but pictured above is two coats-- no top coat.

You're My Dandy Lion:

You're My Dandy Lion is a classic bright yellow with subtle shimmer.  The formula was great (for a yellow).  There was a little bit of streaking and clumpiness, but You're My Dandy Lion was really manageable for a yellow this pigmented.  I applied two generous coats, but added a third thin coat to even everything out.

Let's Get Dirty:

Let's Get Dirty is a pretty grey-beige with a tough of lavender and shimmer.  The finish is pretty.. it's almost matte, but not quite.  I have two coats in the above pics.  This is a great "palette cleanser polish."

Ay Poppy!:

Ay Poppy! is my absolute favorite of this collection!!  I always say: "I don't care for orange polishes", but I need to change that because I've been loving them lately.  Between this one and Zoya Thandie, I'm in love!!  This is two coats of Ay Poppy! with no top coat!  I just adore that shiny finish!!  I can picture this one on my toes A LOT this summer!!

Kiss My Rose Bush:

Kiss My Rose Bush is a "pepto pink" with the same waxy finish as Morning Glory.  This type of finish really shows the imperfections in your nails and brushstrokes seem to stand out much more.  I do like this color, though.  I have two coats in the above pics.

**I hope you all enjoyed this collection as much as I did!!  I'm a huge "flower lover", so this collection really grabbed my attention!!  You can purchase these polishes for individual sale at

Spring Flowers Water Marble

Hey Guys... Just a quick post today as my heart is very heavy for the victims of the bombings in Boston :(  Ugh.. so incredibly sad.  :(

I did a water marble last week that was inspired by my favorite springtime flowers... daffodils and tulips..

Tulip and Daffodil Inspired Marble:

I'm just kinda "meh" about this marble.  The dang water bubbles are back and the red didn't play too nicely with the other colors.  I started with a base of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  I marbled with MBSW, OPI Need Sunglasses?, OPI Girls Just Want to Play and NOPI Pros & Confidence.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Zoya Stunning Summer 2013

-These polishes were sent for review

Hold on to your hats boys and girls!!  Every once in a while a polish collection comes along that totally blows your socks off...  Today I have a collection to share with you that did exactly that to me!!  ;)  I love creams and Zoya's Stunning Collection contains six wonderfully beautiful creams that are just perfect for summer!!!  On to the swatches...

Micky:

Zoya describes Micky as: "a full coverage coral creme."  I don't think Micky is coral...She's more of a soft watermelon pink.  Regardless of her description, Micky is my favorite of this collection!  Pink cremes are my favorite type of polish and this pink is really unique.  I used two coats of Micky and you can see a hint of nail line, but I like the finish with two coats.  I'm sure three coats would take care of any visible nail line.  LOVE MICKY!!!

Josie:

Zoya describes Josie as: "a grassy green cream."  Josie is beautiful.  She is a soft grassy green with a flawless formula.  Each of these polishes is soft, yet bold with amazing pigmentation!  I can see myself using Josie in many water marbles or nail art.

Darcy:

Zoya describes Darcy as a: "sunny yellow cream."  Darcy is pretty.  I did have a little trouble with streaking.  Even after three coats, you can still see some streaks.  For a yellow, though, Darcy is nice and I also see myself using her in marbles and nail art.

Thandie:

Zoya describes Thandie as: "a citrus orange cream."  Ooooh, I'm really liking Thandie!  She's like a dark cantaloupe cream.. another unique orange that's perfect for summertime.  The formula applied easily and reached full opacity with two coats.

Yana:

Zoya describes Yana as a: "geranium pink cream."  Yana is like Micky's fraternal twin sister.  She has the same formula (visible nail line with two coats), but Yana has just a hint of shimmer.  She reminds me of a really ripe watermelon!  Another favorite for me!

Rocky:

Zoya describes Rocky as a: "a serene blue cream."  I added an extra picture of Rocky because she is the prettiest blue cream (and most manageable) I own.  This shade of blue can be really finicky with streaking and staining, but I had neither of those problems with Rocky!  She applied like a dream-- full opacity with two coats and I experienced absolutely NO staining!!!  Hooray!!  That's really rare for blues this pigmented.  Rocky is wonderful!

**I'm in love with every polish from Zoya's Stunning Collection!!  I anxiously look forward to their summer releases and when I saw there were more cremes this year, I was elated!! (Here is a post of last year's Beach Collection).  If you're a fan of cremes, I highly recommend this collection!   My favorites are Micky, Rocky, and Thandie.  Zoya hits the nail on the head again with the Stunning Collection!!

**You can purchase Zoya's Stunning Collection here on their website for $8 a bottle.**

NerdLacquer Eight Gates

Happy Friday Everyone!!  Just a quick post tonight as I've been sick with a sinus infection the past two days.  :(  I was lucky enough to snag NerdLacquer Eight Gates when Ninja Polish last re-stocked.  I had been lemming this Nerd, but thought I'd never get my hands on it...I'm so glad NerdLacquers are being created once again!!

Eight Gates:

Eight Gates has a gorgeous orchid semi-sheer base that easily reaches full opacity with two generous coats.  The glitters are black and white squares, and white hex with silver shimmer.  It's such a pretty mix!  I did have to shake my bottle after painting each nail so I could grab a nice amount of glitter.  Everything was nice and smooth after top coat.  Yay that NerdLacquers are back and yay for a gorgeous polish like Eight Gates!!!

Bad Ass Polish

-These polishes were sent for review
Hey Everyone!!  I have another indie post for you today!  Yay!!  I've missed my indies!  Today's post is two polishes from Bad Ass Polish.  These are my first Bad Ass Polishes, so I was excited to swatch and review!!

First off, I just love the packaging!!  Look at these cute cardboard tubes.  The polish slides out with instructions attached and a piece of felt is wrapped around the polish (which helps with glitter removal.)  These tubes are genius!!!  No bubble wrap needed!!

Chocolate Covered Cherry:

Holy Holo!!!  Chocolate Covered Cherry is so amazing!!  I chose to use it on it's own with three coats followed by top coat.  The bronze and pink glitters are a gorgeous combo and the holo-ness is so beautiful in the sun!!  Great formula and easy application with Chocolate Covered Cherry!!

Copper Waters:

Copper Waters is another beauty!!  I love to wear glitters on their own if they're buildable and this one definitely is!!  Copper Waters has the same great formula as Chocolate Covered  Cherry.  The copper, blue and turquoise glitters look perfect together... just like a sandy beach!!  Again, I used three flawless coats followed by top coat and my nails were smooth to the touch!!

**I'm really loving my first two polishes from Bad Ass Polish!  They're definitely unique and gorgeous!  Both Chocolate Covered Cherry and Copper Waters are $8.75 each.  Copper Waters is brand new and isn't in the shop yet, but should be up for sale soon!!**
