China Glaze Tranzitions

Hey Everyone!!  It's New Year's Eve and I have three fun polishes to share with you today!  They're China Glaze Tranzitions!!

"Out in January, China Glaze Tranzitions is a revolutionary new color-changing nail lacquer that reacts when a clear top coat is applied.  Almost any top coat will work (we recommend China Glaze Fast Forward), changing the color from one shade to another for a stunning effect."

L to R: Duplicityy, Split Perso-nail-ity, Shape Shifter and Fast Forward Top Coat

Duplicityy:

Pictured above is just one coat of  Duplicityy.  I really like this chalky mint green.  The formula is nice and full opacity is reached with just one coat.

Duplicityy with topcoat:

Instead of just adding topcoat, I used China Glaze Fast Forward Top Coat and a dotting tool to create some fast and easy nail art with Duplicityy!  This polish is perfect if you want a fun design with little time.  The topcoat changes the mint color to a shiny teal!

Split Perso-nail-ity:

Split Perso-nail-ity is a really pretty dusty pink without the top coat.  Again, only one coat is required for full coverage.  I personally like this color best out of the three I'm sharing with you today, but that's really no surprise because I'm a pink-lover!

Split Perso-nail-ity with top coat:

I used a dotting tool to apply the topcoat again with Split Pers0-nail-ity. I do recommend using a topcoat that isn't a "fast dry" if you're planning on creating any kind of nail art that takes a little time because Fast Forward became sticky before I finished creating this design. I like the "transition" with Split Perso-nail-ity.. the bold fuchsia is so bright and I like the contrast of the two pinks!

Shape Shifter:

Shape Shifter is listed as a "smoky violet", but it seems more of a charcoal to me with out the top coat.  I like this color, but the formula wasn't as nice as the other two.  I only used one coat, but this formula is a bit thinner and any imperfections (ex: ridges) are more visible with Shape Shifter.

Shape Shifter with topcoat:

Shape Shifter transforms to a royal blue (not really a dark purple as listed) with top coat.  I tried adding stripes with the topcoat at first, but the contrast in colors wasn't strong enough for my liking, so I just added a single coat of topcoat instead.  Make sure you allow the fist coat of Shape Shifter to dry before you add top coat because it will smear if the first coat isn't dry (see my middle finger).  I like this one the least of the three I've shared with you, but it's still a pretty color.

Happy 2013!!!!

  5. Hmm, I'm not totally convinced that I need these in my stash. I usually put top coat over everything, and that would ruin the purpose of these, wouldn't it :)
    Happy new year!

  6. Wow, those are some pretty cool nail polishes! I really favor Duplicitty though. I'm a sucker for mint colors.
