Weekly Water Marble 5/3/12

Here is a quick marble I did last weekend.  I've been short on time lately, so I just decided to try some colors I haven't used in a marble lately..

Purple and Blue Marble:

For this traditional marble I started with a base of OPI Do You Lilac It?.  After that dried, I marbled with Do You Lilac It?, Sally Hansen Xtremewear Deep Purple and Blue Me Away!.  All three colors were pretty easy to work with.  Those freaking bubbles are visible on my pinky and thumb!!  Grrrr.. still can't figure out how to get rid of them! I used room temp bottled water AND inserted and withdrew each finger slowly, so I'm still not sure what causes the bubbles???!! LOL

Enjoy your Thursday!!

  7. i read something the other day saying you have to enter and exit the water at an angle to avoid bubbles - who knows? i usually absorb mine with a pointy pieve of tissue. Love this colour combo xx

  15. Love your color choices. Bubbles can also be caused by droppifng your polish to fast into the water. Some polishes are prone to bubbles in marbles. If you can, try removing the bubbles in the water before you dip with the end of your orange stick or pin...or whatever your choice is. Also, you need to make sure that your base is completely dry. I've had trouble with bubbles if i get to impatient and dip before it is totally dry. Hope this helps.

  17. So I need to tell you, I may or may not have a heavy nail polish addiction and I think you may be enabling me. I. LOVE. YOUR. BLOG. I've been on a nail polish blog binge as of lately and your blog has been the best one for marbling. Keep up the good work. By the way, have you ever tried marbling with glitter polish? I've always wanted to but I've never tried. Let me know what you think. Again, I love love love your blog and I'll be following it and digging deep into your archive for ideas and I'll probably be pinning anything and everything I like. Thanks!! -Liz

    1. Thanks, Liz! I really enjoy water marbling and trying new nail art techniques. I did a marble with Color Club's newest collection (which is a shimmery glitter) and it didn't turn out that great. I'll post it soon.. :)
