OPI--Designer..De Better and Lynnderella Change

This entire mani is focused around Lynderella's "Change."  I wanted to choose the best base coat for Change, so I picked Designer.. De Better from OPI's Muppet Collection.  Did I make the right choice?  Let's see..

Here's Designer..De Better alone:

Is it gold?  Is it silver?  I think it's silver with tons of itsy bitsy gold shimmer and scattered copper shimmer.  It's a foil, but did not apply as nicely as other foils I own (example: Color Club).  Pictured above is three coats, and honestly I should have applied four!!  I like Designer..De Better...It's a color I'm usually not drawn to, so I'll just give it 3 1/2 stars.  ;)

I now own six Lynndellas's.  :)  (such a proud mama).  I thought Designer..De Better would be a pretty base for Lynnderella's Change...I'm kinda thinking I should have picked something more like a hunter green.  See for yourselves....

Ok, it looks pretty.  It looks better in these pictures than IRL.  I thought the base was more gold, but it was pretty clear, so I think I will try Change again over a dark color.  Lynnderella describes Change as: "a gold, silver, pewter, copper, bronze glitter with flecks of holographic gold with micro-colored accents in a very sparkly gold base." (Wow, that was a mouthful).  I like the accents the most in this glitter.  They're red and green and really give Change a Christmas-y feel.  I'm still curious to see Change over a darker color though.

What do you think of this combo?  What do you think would look best as underwear for Change?
