Rainbow Honey.. A Little Kindness

Happy Thursday Everyone!!  I usually post my Weekly Water Marbles on Thursdays, but this week has been all whacked out.  I promise to start posting them regularly starting new week...  I miss doing them.  I do have a really pretty glitter to share with you today called A Little Kindness by Rainbow Honey... yep, another Indie..

Rainbow Honey A Little Kindness:

I have two coats of A Little Kindness over China Glaze Lemon Fizz followed by a fast-dry topcoat on the above pics.  A Little Kindness has a very sheer yellow base, so layering it over Lemon Fizz seemed like a good idea to enhance the yellow.  I really like the subtle pink shimmer in A Little Kindness.  This is such a pretty, delicate polish containing pink, white and gold glitters.

I've had this polish for a while, but I just checked out Rainbow Honey's Facebook Page and see there is a new line to be released on 9/22 at Rainbow Honey's Shop.  Check them out!

Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy

Hey All, I'm back and almost feeling 100% better!  Now, I just gotta get caught up on swatching!  I applied Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy the day before I became sick and I'm still wearing it now, lol.  This one is a pretty mirrored chrome polish that was released earlier this summer..

Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy:

I picked Sugar Daddy from Apothica because you could see the pink undertones in the bottle shots on the website and I'm a sucker for pinks.  On the nail, Sugar Daddy is gorgeous.  It's more green in low light and more champagne/pink in bright light.  Pictured above is two flawless coats of Sugar Daddy.  I really love Deborah Lippmann polishes.  Check out Apothica... they have tons of beautiful Lippmann's to choose from!!

--I acquired this polish using store credit for external work I provided.

F4 Polish Pink Penquin

This post is gonna be short and sweet.  I've been sick with a stomach virus for two days now and haven't even felt well enough to paint my nails... ugh.  Anyway, I grabbed these pics out of the archives of F4 Polish Pink Penquin.  I'm so glad I had a few swatches I hadn't posted yet... they come in handy for times like this. Hopefully in the morning I'll feel up to swatching again

F4 Polish Pink Penquin:

Pink Penquin (why is this spelled with a "q"??) is another fun black and white ... add the pink and I was totally sold.  In the above pics I have one coat of Pink Penquin over Zoya Dove.  Most F4 polishes are one coaters as they are packed dense with glitter...

See you soon with some new swatches and hopefully a settled stomach!!

31DC2012 Day 15, Delicate

Happy Weekend Everyone!!  Just a quick post today.  I have so much to do... and I still have to figure out my "tribal" design for tomorrow..  Well, I stamped for today's challenge and it turned out pretty good for me and my lack of stamping skills..

Delicate Print:

Not too shabby for a rookie stamper.  I started with a base of SpaRitual Strawberry Fields Forever and stamped with OPI Mod About You.  The design I chose is on RA-109.  I really wish I would have taken a few shots of Strawberry Fields Forever on it's own..  it's really beautiful.  I used my Ottlite for the above pics and really like the results (although I prefer natural light still).  Enjoy the day and I'll be back tomorrow with a tribal print :)

Some Polishes from Mélange on Etsy

Hey Guys... Two posts in one day!!  Yay!!  I came across Mélange on Etsy and instantly fell in love with one of their polishes called Peace & Love.  I purchased that one and the girls at Melange were nice enough to send a few more for review...  Let's get started..

Peace & Love:

OK, first off... how freaking cute is that Peace Charm??  I love peace signs and flowers (I should have been a hippie).  Not only am I in love with the name and peace sign, I'm also in love with this polish.  Peace & Love has a sheer lime base with pink, red, and green hex glitter and micro blue glitter.  This one could have been worn alone with three coats, but I chose to layer two thin coats over Color Club Twiggie, followed by topcoat...  I really love Peace & Love... it's soooo "me".  :)

Burning Flame:

Burning Flame is a great Fall Glitter.  It was a bit thick, but not impossible to work with.  Maybe add a few drops of thinner if you purchase this one.  I have Burning Flame layered over Barry M Mushroom, followed by a coat of Gelous, then topcoat.  This one could easily be worn alone with no "undies".

Purp-OH-Licious:

Purp-OH-Licious is amazing!!!  It's densely packed with purple and fuchsia micro glitter in a clear base.  The shimmer with Purp-OH-Licious is so pretty.  I have two coats of Purp-OH-Licious followed by two coats of topcoat on the above pics.   Topcoat is important with this one as it makes the purple/pink shine much more brightly.  This one is Megan's (one of the creators) favorite. :)

Witches Brew:

Another cute charm... the witch on the broom is darling!!  This is Witches Brew and it's perfect for Halloween.  It contains orange hex, purple squares, and yellowish micro glitter in a clear base.  The formula with Witches Brew is perfect.  I have two coats layered over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Green With Envy. Witches Brew is so versatile..top off your favorite base for a great Halloween Mani with this one :)

Jellybean:

Finally we have Jellybean. (and, yes, I'm trying to find a new watermark font :).  Jellybean's base is a sheer mint color.  It's not quite a jelly, but with topcoat it appears jelly-like.  I love the color combo in Jellybean.. aqua, indigo, yellow, red and purple hex with just a touch of small white bar glitter.  Pictured above is two coats with topcoat.

**I really love Melange Polishes!  They're all unique with great formula.  The little charms added to some of them are such a cute touch.  I guess my only complaint is the name of each polish isn't on the bottle.. I had to  glance at the shop to remind myself what each one was called... but that's really not a big deal.  With all the Indie Shops that are popping up lately, Melange really stands out as something a "little different".  Two thumbs up to Melange!!  The owners of Melange are Megan and Caitlin... I just found out Caitlin is Megan's 9 year-old daughter who comes up with most of their polish ideas... isn't that so cute???  :)

**Check out all the gorgeous Melange Polishes here on Etsy!**

--All polishes except Peace & Love were sent for review

31DC2012 Day 14, Flowers

Yay for Friday!!  And... yay for flowers.  I love them, I'm just not to great at floral nail art.. ugh.  Sunflowers are my favorite flower.  I have tons still blooming behind our garage.  I tried sunflowers once before with a dotting tool and they weren't the greatest and neither are these, but I do see improvement!! :)

Sunflowers:

I think I need a thinner brush and some acrylic paint.  For this mani I started with a base of China Glaze Kinetic Candy.  I used Sally Hansen Bittersweet for the centers, mixed some of that with Bettina Sunrise for some of the petals, then just Sunrise for the rest.  Yep, I'll keep on practicing :)

See ya tomorrow for a "delicate" mani.. Ugh, I may try to stamp and that probably won't be pretty either..
